Re: A30 firmware.
Somewhere along the line in the last couple months Geeetech updated their download page with the firmware packages in a nice download order: https://www.geeetech.com/download.html?download_id=38 You select the A30 and the latest firmware V1.38.59. It comes with both the M and S files. It also comes ...

Can't give you a definitive answer on the buck converter. It will work fine... but you might lose RPM control on the part fan?

Re: Downside to running fans from a buck converter? 24V Upgrade
I'd recommend getting the 600W Meanwell. Or at the minimum the 500W. Especially if you plan to run long prints or unattended.
My 24V A30 when the heater bed, hot end and steppers are all active at once it will draw 350W at the wall... maybe even a hair more.

Re: 1.37.58 homing after level, z isn't raising.
Actually it's worse than that. Level is not working. Every print I start the nozzle dives into the bed and scratches. At least level was working perfectly on the old firmware (1.35.56), but the smartto motor control on the old firmware was behaving so badly I could not calibrate the extruder without...

1.37.58 homing after level, z isn't raising.
When the printer returns to home it isn't raising on z a little first like it used to in older firmware versions. This has already caused me to scratch my bed badly. It also causes havoc if you abort a print with the nozzle close to the bed. It goes home with no Z lift first and you can't stop it. I...

Re: For add Wifibox function suggestion
I purchased a Wifibox but discovered almost immediately that it just didn't do anything I wanted or needed. I use my own slicer and have little interest in Easyprint. I built an Octopi and had it up and running a few days later and it's exactly what I need. Controling the printer from my PC with all...

Re: Newbie issues with first print
That's a good looking print. Glad you have it working.
Where's the info you got from gerryd646? I'm sure that would help more new people out.

Re: Filament extrusion issues
make sure you cut your filament at a 45 degree angle and push it through. It should feed through fairly easily. Check your stepper driver voltage for the extruder (and all the other axis drivers). My experience so far: It seems that all these plastic bowden extruders can have a narrow range where th...

Re: Newbie issues with first print
Ok, I'm a little too new to just look at that and know what's going on. It'd be great if someone more experienced could chime in with ideas. But let's start at the first thing that didn't work... the brim layers around the bottom of that didn't work at all. I've printed a dozen of those cubes and it...
